Our Story

Briarwood Health Center is conveniently located near the Emory Decatur Hospital (formerly DeKalb Medical), and Grady Memorial Hospital and also proudly welcomes our Veterans from the Atlanta VA Medical Center in Decatur.

In addition to 24-hour skilled nursing services, we offer medical staff five days per week. Our dedicated rehabilitation staff are in-house and employees of the center. We offer a host of amenities including spacious resident rooms, free salon services at our Esteem Salon, and a first-class dining experience. Residents also enjoy our outdoor covered patio space and other scenic outdoor spaces.

Our center can uniquely provide total parenteral nutrition (TPN) services, and support BIPAP (bilevel positive airway pressure), and CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) recipients. Our extensive clinical capabilities are stable trach, suctioning, LifeVest, Trilogy, VI Antibiotic therapy, VI fluids, Gastrostomy/PEG feedings, wound care, and wound vacs; management of Pyrex drainage, and Jack Pratt drainage system.

We are proud of our partnership with The Joint Commission. Achieving The Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission is an internationally recognized mark of quality and a testament to the quality of care provided at our health center. We have also earned the AHCA and GHCA awards which is further testimony to the exceptional team, care, and standards we've worked so hard to foster.

How Does the Admission Process Work?

We will schedule a time to help you complete your admissions paperwork within the first 24 hours. You are welcome to bring any additional questions regarding your insurance benefits and your stay at this time or at any time while you are in the center. We also offer an electronic admission paperwork option that allows e-signature via email if you have a busy schedule or are still at the hospital.

How Do We Establish a Specific Personalized Care Plan?

Your physician communicates medication and treatment orders at the time of your hospital discharge. These orders will be implemented to help provide continuity of care. Upon admission, the interdisciplinary team will work with you and your family to identify care needs, preferences, and goals for your stay. You are a valuable partner in the process. Within the first few days of your stay, you and your family will be invited to participate in a care planning conference to discuss needs, discharge planning, and progress toward goals. Our team is here to help.
